The Southern Adelaide Trade Training Centre at Blackwood High School was opened in 2011 as part of a government initiative to improve the delivery and quality of vocational learning and VET delivered to secondary students. Blackwood High School’s state of the art facilities provide an innovative work environment for the delivery of their accredited VET Certificate II Electro-technology course. Blackwood High School has developed a complete Industry Pathways Program from Years 8 through to Year 12 where students can develop their technology focus, particularly in field of Electro-technology.
Blackwood High School’s Trade Training Centre comprises of a complete Electro-technology lab with industry standard soldering stations and interactive Uni-Train simulation equipment. The electronics lab provides a safe work environment for up to 30 students enabling each student to maximise their learning experiences.
Blackwood High School’s Trade Training Centre extends its facilities with the incorporation of mixed materials and STEM advanced technology workshops aimed at exposing learners to industry standard equipment and processes.
